Toronto, Canada, July 1st 2014 — Canadian musician and surfer Chris Hau has been spotted surfing and playing electric guitar at the same time! Hau is the first person to successfully attempt such a challenging feat.
This stunt was made possible by surfing a wave created by a boat. As seen at the beginning of the video, Chris throws the tow line away to prove to his audience that he is in no way attached to the boat. The video was captured using GoPro cameras and the ripping electric guitar audio was recorded by using the latest in portable iPhone guitar amp technology, supplied by Positive Grid. Hau plugged in his homemade guitar into a waterproof iPhone case and surfed his way into the history books.
Accomplished on a shoe string budget; Hau found a way to combine his passion for surfing and his love for music into one compelling and fun video. Focusing in on classic surf culture songs, Chris decided to combine Dick Dale’s “Misirlou”, The Surfaris’ “Wipeout”, Heart’s “Barracuda” and a rendition the King of The Hill theme song - just for fun.
